21 Clever Examples of English Language

I came across this on the web and thought they were wonderful examples of our language. And now you can see why they say English is so hard to learn. In 5) the second 'lead' means 'leash' for Americans.

5. He could lead if he would get the lead out.
6. The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.

11. The insurance was invalid for the invalid.
12. There was a row among the oarsmen on how to row.

14. The buck does funny things when does are present.

16. To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow.
17. The wind was too strong to wind the sail.
18. After a number of injections my jaw got number.

In number 5, lead as in the metal, which is very heavy. If he got the lead(metal) out he could lead the pack with his dog on a purple lead(leash). Love your pictures.
