Mount Pleasant on Tuesday

Last week, DCUE had two midweek events, both of which Emily and I went to. The first was in Mt Pleasant, DC where we met at a bar first and then walked a few doors down to a brick facade of an old apartment building which had burnt down about 3 years ago but the front was still standing.
The fire left about 200 people homeless yet the condition of the building had been horrendous and many complaints had been filed. The Washington Post printed a large article on it
There is some good news though in that a deal has been reached where construction will soon begin on building new homes for some of the displaced residents. We took our photos to capture the facade before it disappears forever and then returned to the bar to end the evening.
